Out With the Old, In With the New

So after this last Christmas in our home in 2018, we packed everything in Jan and February and left for an apartment. We had a Ugly Sweater Christmas party at Christmas time that was lovely but little did most of our friends and family know, we were moving to a new life.
I had already signed up for a degree at a local Christian University so everything I had been doing was done while I was going to school. And it is not an easy school but a very difficult one. At this point we weren't even sure what we were doing. We did not even think about a homestead. But soon that would be our focus. We started looking for properties.
It has been a while since we left our beautiful large home but I did survive, as tough as it was. We first moved to an apartment and cut our bills substantially. It was not a bad apartment which I supposed made me feel much better about the whole thing. At least it had a fireplace and a small area with a vaulted ceiling. I was just barely coping and trying to stay afloat in school. So it was not the end of the world to move from our family home as I know it but in a way I had to think of it as moving to a new life. So far so good...
